We’d like you to meet our very own Cole Schlesselman of Lee’s Summit, MO! Cole is one of our trumpet players and has been since August of last year.
Cole spends his days working as a band teacher and hanging out with his wife Lauren who is also part of our symphony family.
“I have been a part of music my whole life, from being a part of music in elementary school band and choir all the way through playing in college. Currently being a band teacher means life gets pretty busy, and it is not easy to find a relaxed group that I can play in where it doesn’t necessarily hurt too much if I have to miss a rehearsal or two. This group helps me socialize with others that enjoy playing music.” -Cole
Cole has been playing trumpet for 18 years and in that time, his favorite piece of music to play is Overture to Candide by Leonard Bernstein. He said, “It’s just a very exciting piece to play. The mixed meter catches the ear when playing.”
We are so lucky to have Cole as part of our symphony!
