DESCRIPTION:Join Friends of the River KC\, Port KC\, Exploring Roots\, Reshaping KC\, and many more as we celebrate May the 4th be with you in a jampacked day of Star Wars fun. \nChildren’s activities run from open to close all across the park\, including a kids craft area from Scraps KC\, and Local Legends Gaming will be onsite for gamers of all ages and levels to battle in their giant mobile gaming truck. Meditate with Yoda\, explore the Tuscan Village\, and check out a droid or two from Kansas City R2 Builders Club as well. We are a park\, and park party people – so please plan to play and enjoy all of the green spaces around us. \nFood and drink available all afternoon and evening from local KC vendors\, including booze from Touring Taps in our very own Cantina Bar with can’t miss performances from The Social Symphony KC\, Eems\, Rick Kloog\, Matt Villinger\, Shay Estes\, and Jamie Anderson. \nCome dressed to Star Wars impress as we will be hosting a costume contest with prizes for our winners. Judges to be announced soon! \nThis year we will hold four (4) different battles across the evening – the final battle being a free for all – so bring your sabers from home and use the force. Additionally\, a Jedi Master will assist with teaching specific battle moves prior to our battles. Battles set to begin at sundown (currently 7:47). \nIf you’d like to bring lawn chairs and blankets\, both are welcome! Plan to hang out with friends for fellowship and fun all evening long in your park. See you soon!!
