Karin Wilson

This is Karin Wilson, one of our lovely violinists! Karin joined the Social Symphony in February of this year.

“I had been missing playing with a group for awhile then I heard someone talking about it in the hall outside my office at work. Searched for it on Facebook and messaged them immediately!” -Karin

Karin is from Wichita KS and now calls Kansas City home. She works as a Research Compliance Officer at KUMC, and when she isn’t working she loves archery and book club.

Karin has been playing violin for 20 years and in that time her favorite pieces to play are Dvorak’s New World Symphony and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. “They are fun to play and they take you on a journey.” She says that the most educational piece she has ever played is Pederecki’s Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima, “there are symbols in that music that I had never seen before and will probably never see again.”

Thanks for joining the symphony family Karin!
